SELF CONTAINED, 2024

Themes of connectedness and individuation are explored through this series of painting and sculpture works. Coded use of colour and symbolic representation of energy sources, provide a safe backdrop for explorations of self, in the context of social cohesion and universal consciousness. 

This body of work grapples with taboo subject matter in a way that is deeply rooted in formal approaches to art and visual narrative. It borrows heavily from modernist convention and conceptual influences, that counterbalance the threatening subject matter. Call it sugar coating for the soul.
